    Casket review

    Excellent wood craftsmanship. Beautiful finish. However I do not understanding if the casket actually sealed shut. As the gap between the hinged sections of the cover seemed large, and it appears the gap extends into the casket allowing damp air in? Delivery was very fast 4 days.

    Hi - thank you for the review and the kind words about the casket.

    So, no casket truly seals shut. For a variety of reasons (which I'm happy to explain), caskets are not made to be airtight. However, steel caskets come close, and we fit many of our steel caskets with a 'gasket' around the lid which is commonly referred to as a sealer. I believe that's likely the feature for which you are inquiring. Gaskets are not really need either, as the vault is truly the defense, but we include them at our cost as it's industry standard.

    However, no wood casket includes a gasket. Wood is naturally a porous fiber, so a gasket would not add any benefit. Therefore, the lid does not seal shut. I hope that makes sense! I'm at josh@titancasket.com if I'm not quite capturing your concern or you'd like to discuss further.

    Great experience
